10 Things I Dislike About Facebook/Myspace

Facebook:

1. Compare people. Why? Isn't that a little degrading?
2. Gossip. No, I don't have any recently gossip to secretly share with the rest of my facebook friends.
3. Super Poke. What, plain ol' poke wasn't annoying enough for yah?
4. Beer Mail. Virtual alcoholic anyone?
5. Gifts. I mean, the ones you have to pay $1 for. Seriously? A dollar for a virtual gift that you can't even use?
6. Bumper Stickers. Why do people always send me vulgar ones?
7. Top Friends. Cool table, anyone?
8. Side bar ads. Plastic Surgery? Weight loss? What are you trying to tell me here?
9. Which Disney Princess are you? I don't think that really matters since, well, I'm an adult now and don't believe in fairy tales.
10. Friend FAQ. Seriously- are we in highschool? These questions are ridiculous and are meant to ridicule and cut down your friends.

10 Things I Dislike About MySpace
1. Myspace.
2. Myspace.
3. Truth boxes. Do I really want to install an app that allows people to leave me rude anon messages?
4. That mob thing on myspace. Mafia Wars?
5. Super Pets. Yes, give me something else to take care of. It's not like I have a husband, three kids, and a dog.
6. Own your friends. I AM NOT FOR SALE! QUIT ASKING!
7. Myspace.
8. Oh, and myspace.
9. Vulgar RATED R movie promotions plastered all over myspace.
10. The ads.

Me too! The only reason I even use Facebook is that most of my old high school friends don' know anything else.

I was just invited to join. I did and now I'm not so sure I like it. I guess I don't get it. It feel so shallow. You know what I mean? Our whole church is practically on it and I have yet to hear anything of relevance come out about God.

I think I like blogging much better. It seems more personal and I like the journalling aspect of it.

I got myspace & facebook accounts to see what my kids were putting on theirs, and to keep up with my ex co-workers. I thought it was fun at first, but it got old real fast. I rarely go on either one anymore. Blogging seems more mature to me.

:) I agree. Its nice to keep in touch, but sometimes I think keeping in touch is overrated.

I truly believe that some people are suppose to be in our lives for "a season" and we end up dragging it out.

Plus, I've heard of so many affairs and bad things going on as people reconnect with "old loves" though myspace... it makes me shudder.

I agree! (Although MySpace is LOTS worse than Facebook) :)

Mandy, I have enjoyed your blog for a few months now. And, thank you for this one especially. I haven't ever even been to either one of the sites. Partially per my husbands request. Other part is that I just haven't wanted to. Thank you for confirming for me that I am NOT suppose to go there :-)
You have a BEAUTIFUL family!

One thing I enjoy about FB is the fact that I have just been discovered by about 30 old friends from jr. high & high school, and am having a blast catching up with everyone :) There will even be a mini-reunion here in the area with everyone that can attend. The big deal here is that this was a small, private school, that is no longer around. So, everyone just sort of disappeared. Hubby & I even attended a different church on Sunday and went to lunch with 2 old friends that have been dating for 2 years after reconnecting...such fun!!! The downside of FB, its like crack - addictive!

I have both.
I use facebook much more often.
nice features of FB are there ways to raise money for organization, just by taking care of your candy store - st judes, or a african safari - nets for africa. Save the planet, allows you to use virtual money0 which then gets send through sponsors to help other organizations.
